Adelaide was born about 1065 in Valois, Isle De France, France.  Adelaide's father was Count Herbert IV of Vermandois, Vexin & Valois and her mother is Adela de Valois of Vexin.  Her paternal grandfather was Otho de Vermandois; her maternal grandparents were Count Raoul ("the Great") III of Valois, Vexin, Amiens and Adele de Bar-sur-Aube. She had a sister named Adele.  She was the younger of the two children. She had a half-brother named Harold de Ewias.  Adelaide is no longer alive.

‌Adelaide and "the Great", "le Grand" were married in a religious ceremony about 1064 in France.  They had three daughters named Maud, Elizabeth and Constance.
