Maud was born about 1080 in Valois, France.  Maud's father was Count Hugh ("the Great", "le Grand") de Crepi of Vermandois and her mother was Adelaide of Vermandois.  Her paternal grandparents were King Henry Capet I and Anna Agnesa Yaroslavna; her maternal grandfather was Count Herbert IV of Vermandois, Vexin & Valois and her maternal grandmother is Adela de Valois of Vexin. She had two sisters named Elizabeth and Constance.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died in 1130.

‌Maud and Raoul were married in a religious ceremony about 1111 in Beaugency, Loiret, France.  They had a daughter named Agnes.
