Robert, known as "Bossu", was born in 1104 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.  "Bossu"'s father was Robert de Beaumont of Meulan and his mother was Elizabeth de Crepi.  His paternal grandparents were Roger de Beaumont and Lady Adeline de Meulan of Beaumont; his maternal grandparents were Count Hugh ("the Great", "le Grand") de Crepi of Vermandois and Adelaide of Vermandois. He had a brother and two sisters, named Waleran, Maud and Isabel. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William, Rainald, Ada and Gundred.  He died at the age of 64 on April 5th, 1168 in England.  He was buried in Leicester Abbey, Leicester, Leicestershire, England.


"Bossu"'s family with Amice de Gael

‌"Bossu" and Amice were married in a religious ceremony after November 1120 in Brittany, France.  They had a son and four daughters, named "Blanchmains", Isabel, Margaret, "de Beaumont" and Emma.
