John was born about 1250 in Barnard Castle, Gainford, Durham, England.  John's father was Regent John de Baliol I of Scotland and his mother was Dervorgilla MacDougal de Galloway.  His paternal grandparents are Hugh de Baliol and Cecily de La Fontaine; his maternal grandparents were Alan de Galloway and Princess Margaret Huntingdon of Scotland. He had five sisters named Cecilia, Ada, Eleanor, Eupheme and Euphemia. He had a half-sister named Maud.  He died in April 1313 in Chateau Galliard, Normandy, France.  He was buried in Church Of St. Waast, Normandy.


John's family with Isabel de Warenne

‌John and Isabel were married in a religious ceremony in Lewes, Surrey, England.  They had a daughter named Maud.
