Fergus was born in Galloway, Scotland.  Fergus' father was King Maldred of Strathclyde and his mother is Princess Ealdgyth Morcarson of Northumberland.  His paternal grandfather was Lord Crinan ('Grimus') de Isles and his paternal grandmother is Princess Bethoc mac Máel Coluim of Scotland; his maternal grandfather was Ealdorman Ughtred Northumbria of Northumberland and his maternal grandmother is Princess Aelgifu of England. He had two brothers named Gospatric and Maldred.  He died on May 12th, 1161 in Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Edinburghshire, Scotland.  He was buried on May 12th, 1161 in Holyrood Abbey, Edinburgh, Edinburghshire, Scotland.


Fergus' family with Princess Joan Elizabeth Plantagenet of England

‌Fergus and Joan Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony about 1124 in Carrick, Ayrshire, Scotland.  They had two sons and three daughters, named Uchtred, Gilbert, Aufrica, Bethoc and Margaret.
