Sarah Alice died 18 Nov 1937 at Liverpool Royal Infirmary, leaving her estate of £110 19s to her daughter Evelyn Mary Lewis and her husband.
John William Lewis John W Lewis probably went by the name of William, as recorded as such in probate records 1903 - 1981 Evelyn Mary Dittmer 78 78 Daughter of William and Sarah Alice, as they left their estate to her.

Evelyn was living with her grandmother in 1911, while her morther was in service and her father a mariner (at sea). This confirms that she was Sarah's daughter.

1851 - 1902 John Henry Dittmer 51 51 John Henry Dittmer arrived in England Apr-1872 on the British Queen from New Messow.  He was travelling with two other Dittmers including Heinrich Dittmer.

He was a marriner, and after he married, later became a Shoe Maker (like his father-in-law).

In 1901, John Dittmer (50), widower was a master marriner, living in Liverpool with his sons William (20) and Leonard (19), his only surviving children.

Q4 1902, John Henry died in West Derby, Liverpool, aged 51 (so born 1851).

John's father was Louis Dettmer, a Stone Mason (shown on 1978 marriage record).
1851 - <1901 Alice Randles 50 50 1881 - 1946 Leonard John Henry Dittmer 64 64 By 1911, Leonard Dittmer may have fell on hard times as he was an Inmate at a Guest House (a large institution), Walton on the Hill, Lancashire.  Also at this time Leonard is listed on the Register of Adult Paupers and Children (male, born 1880, admitted from Belmont Road, no 9060 and with a maintenance rate of 10s 6d). He was discharged 1 Jan 1913 to Liverpool for Employment.

In 1939 he was with his brother William in Liverpool, working at the Saw Mill

She was buried a Catholic.
Louis Dettmer <female> Dettmer George Griffiths 1845 Mary Griffiths 1867 Mary Elizabeth Griffiths Mary was still single in 1911, working as an assistant for her mother in her shop. 1878 - 1878 Sidney Albert Dittmer 1m 1m Liverpool Mercury 23-Dec-1787 reported in the DEATHS column: "DITTMER-Dec 15, aged 2 months, Sidney Albert, son of John Dittmer" 1863 - 1940 Alice (Lilly) Matilda Elfride Dittmer 76 76 Alice Matilda Elfride (or Elphide)

Alice was with her father in 1901.  After he died, she moved to Aliter Lea, Hilltop, Wilmslow, living by private means.

In 1910, Alice is listed in Slater's Directory, living at Hill Top, Salford

In 1911, Alice  had a domestic servant, Eliza Kelly, with her.

Alice must have moved south to Exmouth in later lafe to live with her brother Percy, as this is where she died in 1940.  She left her estate (£1600) to Percy who died 6 years later.

Alice was recorded as Lilly Dittmer in 1891
1826 - 1906 Hugo Adalbert Dittmer 80 80 Hugo Adalbert lived in Berlin with his mother. He was a businessman, but his company failed in 1857.

A reference on the internet (Deutschen Bund for April 1857) suggests Hugo Adalbert was from Berlin and was arrested for criminal activity, which may explain why he came to Manchester, England (where there was a thriving silk industry).

I cant find a UK marriage for Hugo and Henrietta, so probably married in Germany before 1861 (he arrived in England before 1861).

In 1881 he is desribed as a silk merchant, and on other census records as a merchant or shipping or commision agent.

Adalbert was a widower in 1901, living at 307 Wilmslow Road, South Manchester.  He was a Silk Merchant Shipper, Commision Agent (employer) and a nationalised British Subject.  He had his daughter Alice and two domestic servants, Mary Wyatt (25), cook and Louis  Williams (21), housemaid also living there.
1830 - 1894 Henrietta Buck 64 64 Childrens birth records at Salford show MMN as BUCK. 1865 - 1946 Percy Henry Adalbert Dittmer 81 81 When Percy died in 1946 he left a massive fortune of over £16,000. 1864 - 1945 Elizabeth Hured (nee Standring) 81 81 Elizabeth's parents were John and Sarah Standring from Manchester.

The 1893 civil marriage shows her same as Elizabeth Hured, so it appears she was married before, possibly to Frank Hird in 1879.
1836 John Cunningham
31 July 1865, John Cunningham (30) son of Martin a Shoemaker married Bridget Martin (30) daughter of John Martin a farmer at Manchester Cathedral (i.e. after Elizabeth Maus and Henry were born). Both were living at Granby Row, Central Manchester.

In 1871 John (35) a shoemaker, and widower is with children Elizabeth (13), Henry (11), William Patrick (4) and sister in law Ann Martin, housekeeper.

Bridget had a sister Ann Martin who in 1871, lived with John as a housekeeper after Bridget died.
1867 William Patrick Cunningham William was a shop boy in 1881, living with his father and sister in Kirkdale, Liverpool.

The English Government provided verification of William Patrick's brother Henry and his sister Elizabeth Maud Dittmer as part of WW2 war reparation.
1860 Henry Cunningham Henry, born Ireland and aged 21 was lodging with the O'Brian family in 1881 in Liverpool (also from Ireland). ~1867 Hermann Dettman 1867 Sophie Augusta C Ehlers 24 Constable Street, Hessle Rd in 1911 1894 Hermena Dettman 1896 Annie Elizabeth Dettman 1899 Doris Emma Dettman 1900 Edward Frederick Dettmer 1904 Emma Dettman 1892 - 1893 Hermena Dettman 11m 11m 1891 - 1891 Herman William Dettman Karen Diane Lewis 1797 - 1831 Dr Leopold Friedrich Dittmer 34 34 Dr Leopold Friedrich was born in Königsberg, Prussia. He was only 10 when his father died, and his mother sent him to be educated at a High School in Berlin.  He bacame a doctor in Königsberg in the Army after studying at the Charité Military University in Berlin.

15 March 1825, Leopols Friedrich Dittmer, the oldest son or ? married Charlote Titel.

Leopold came to Brodnica (now Poland) in 1827 from Susza, where from 23 Oct 1825 he had worked as a district doctor.

Doctor Leopold Friedrich Dittmer, a Mason (i.e. of the Masonic order), was buried in a pyramid in Brodnica (see images).
1805 - >1884 Charlotte Wilhelmine Emilie Titel 79 79 Charlotte Wilhelmine Emilie's father was Friedrich Wilhelm Conrad Titel and her motheer Anna Caroline Fromme.  Baptism records show she was born March 1805 and had a brother Wilhelm August (born 1 Aug 1808) and a sister Susanne Caroline (born 29 Jan 1810).

In 1825, Charlotte Emily was 20 (not 26 as indexed) when she married Leopold, which confirms birth in March 1805.

7 July 1829 her sister Susanna Caroline Titel, daughter of Conrad Wilhelm Titel married Otto Wilhelm Von Herzberg.

After Leopold died in 1831, Emila had 4 surviving children to support, although her daughter Cecilia died very soon after.  She then moved back to Berlin to live with her parents.

Its not clear what happened to Charlotte after 1872 and the last record for her is in Germany in 1884.
