Harold was a bit of a lad. He used to hang on the outside of the Tram, presumably to avoid paying the fare. This was the undoing of him, as one day when the tram was going around a corner, he swung out and hit his head on a lamp-post. The injury was fatal !

Harold Dittmer died 22 April 1952, aged 30, and was buried with his uncle and aunt Matthew and Elizabeth Walker at Kirkdale Cemetery.
