Charles was born in September 1922 in West Derby.1  Charles' father was Hermann (Chris) Hinrich Christopher Dittmer and his mother was Elizabeth (Lilly) Graham.  His paternal grandparents were Johann (Chris) Heinrich Christoph Dittmer and Katharina (Margaret) Margretha Magdalena Heuer. He had a brother and three sisters, named Harold, Dora, (Elizabeth) and (Marie).  He died at the age of 6 on February 12th, 1929 in West Derby.  He was buried in February 1929 in Kirkdale.2 3
