Matthew (Mat) Walker

Matthew, known as Mat, was born in 1879 in Cumberland.¹

Birth Notes
- A bad sort from the lake district (says Betty Dittmer, Tojny's mother)

He died at the age of 70 on July 9th, 1949 in Liverpool. His burial was in Kirkdale.²³

General Notes
- My mother (Joan Mather) remembers Mat. He used to dress up as Father Christmas for the family. His wife "Lizzie" would put 6d coins in the Christmas Trifle for the children to find.
  
  He had bad rhumatism 1920's when my mother knew him.
