George's father was Christopher (Fred) Frederick Dittmer and his mother was Maud Seymour Lindop.  His paternal grandparents were Johann (Chris) Heinrich Christoph Dittmer and Katharina (Margaret) Margretha Magdalena Heuer. He had a brother named Will.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Enteritis & Bronchitis, at the age of 2 on July 26th, 1913 in Prescot.²
