Charles was born on March 12th, 1270 in Vincennes, Isle De France, France.  Charles' father was King Philip III of France and his mother was Princess Isabelle of Aragon.  His paternal grandparents were King Louis Capet IX and Marguerite Berenger of Provence; his maternal grandparents were King Jayme ("the Conqueror") I of Aragon and Princess Yolande of Hungary. He had a brother named "the Fair".  He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-sister named Marguerite.  He died at the age of 55 on December 15th, 1325 in Nogent-le-Roi, , France.  He was buried in St Jacques, Paris, Isle De France, France.


Charles' first family with Princess Margaret of Anjou

‌Charles and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony on August 16th, 1290 in Corbeil, Marne, France.  They had a son and a daughter, named Philip and Jeanne.

They had a daughter named Isabelle.
