Euphrosyne was born about 1130 in Kiev, Ukraine.  Euphrosyne's father was Grand Duke Harold Mstislav I of Kiev and her mother was Ljubava Saviditsch of Novgorod.  Her paternal grandfather was Grand Duke Vladimir Monomachus ("Monomakh") II of Kiev and her paternal grandmother is Princess Gytha of England; her maternal grandfather was Dimitri Saviditsch of Novgorod. She had a sister named Elena.  She was the older of the two children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Izyaslav, Vsevolod Gavriil, Rostistav I Mikhail, Ingeborga and Mariya Agafiya.  She died before 1186.
