Vladimir Monomachus, known as "Monomakh", was born in 1053 in Kiev, Ukraine.  "Monomakh"'s father was Prince Vsevolod I of Kiev and his mother was Princess Irene of Byzantium.  His paternal grandparents were Grand Prince Yaroslav ("the Wise") Wladimirowwitsch I and Princess Ingrid Olafsdottir; his maternal grandparents were Emperor Constantine VIII of Byzantium and Skleros.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 72 on May 19th, 1125.


"Monomakh"'s first family with Princess Gytha of England

‌"Monomakh" and Gytha were married in a religious ceremony in 1071 in London, England.  They had two sons and a daughter, named Harold Mstislav I, "Dolgorukij" and Euphemia.


"Monomakh"'s second family with Sofja of Polowezki

They had a son named "Dolgorukij".
