Harold was born about 1022 in Essex.  Harold's father was Earl Godwin of Wessex & Kent and his mother is Gytha Thorkillsdottir.  His paternal grandfather was Ealdorman Wulfnoth of Wessex; his maternal grandfather was Jarl Thorkil Bjornsson and his maternal grandmother is Sigrid ("Sprakling") Haraldsdottir. He had a brother named Herbert.  He was the older of the two children.  He died  due to died in battle on October 14th, 1066 in Senlac Hill, North of Hastings, Surrey, England.  He was buried in Battle of Sussex.


Harold's first family with Eadgyth Swan-neck

‌Harold and Eadgyth were married in a religious ceremony in 1045.  They had a daughter named Gytha.

He had a biological son named Godwine.
