Jayme, known as "the Conqueror", was born on February 1st, 1207 in Montpellier, Herault, France.  "the Conqueror"'s father was King Pedro ("the Catholic") II of Aragon and his mother was Maria of Montpellier.  His paternal grandparents were King Alfonso ("the Chaste") II and Sancha of Castile; his maternal grandparents were Guillaume VIII of Montpellier and Princess Eudoxia Comnenus of Byzantium.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 69 on July 27th, 1276 in Valencia, Valencia, Spain.  He was buried in Monasterio de Poblet, Tarragona, Spain.


"the Conqueror"'s family with Princess Yolande of Hungary

‌"the Conqueror" and Yolande were married in a religious ceremony on September 8th, 1235 in Barcelona, Spain.  They had a son and two daughters, named "the Great", Yolanda and Isabelle.
