Agnes was born in 1074 in Klosterneuburg, Niederèosterreich, Austria.  Agnes' father was Emperor Henry IV of Germany and her mother was Bertha of Maurienne.  Her paternal grandparents were Emperor Henry Salien ("the Black") von Hohenstaufen III of Germany and Princess Agnes of Poitou; her maternal grandparents were Count Otto I of Maurienne and Adelaide von Susa.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 69 on September 24th, 1143.


Agnes' first family with Margrave Leopald ("the Saint") von Babenberg III of Austria

‌Agnes and "the Saint" were married in a religious ceremony about 1106 in Klosterneuburg, Niederèosterreich, Austria.  They had four daughters named Bertha, Agnes, Jhutte and Gertrude.


Agnes' second family with Duke Frederik von Hohenstaufen I of Swabia

They had two sons and a daughter, named Frederik, Konrad and Kunigunde.
