Jhutte was born about 1115 in Klosterneuburg, Niederhosterreich, Austria.  Jhutte's father was Margrave Leopald ("the Saint") von Babenberg III of Austria and her mother was Princess Agnes of Franconia.  Her paternal grandparents were Margrave Leopald ("the Fair") II of Austria and Ida of Cham; her maternal grandparents were Emperor Henry IV of Germany and Bertha of Maurienne. She had three sisters named Bertha, Agnes and Gertrude.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Frederik, Konrad and Kunigunde.  She died after October 18th, 1168.

They had a son and two daughters, named Boniface, Beatrix and Alice.
