Adelheid was born about 1041 in Meissen, Dresden, Saxony.  Adelheid's father was Margrave Dedi von Wettin II of Ostmark and her mother was Princess Oda of the Ostmark.  Her paternal grandfather was Count Dietrich II of Brehna & Wettin and her paternal grandmother is Matilda of Meissen; her maternal grandfather was Margrave Thietmar von Nordmark II of the Saxon Ostmark and her maternal grandmother is Rainhilda von Beichlingen. She had a half-brother named Otto.  She died on January 26th, 1071.

‌Adelheid and "the Valiant", "the Bold" were married in a religious ceremony in Meissen, Dresden, Saxony.  They had a son named "the Fair".
