Giselle was born in Schwaben, Bavaria.  Giselle's father was Duke Hermann Carolingians II of Swabia and her mother was Princess Gerberga de Bourgogne.  Her paternal grandfather was Count Konrad I of Rheingau and her paternal grandmother is Princess Judith von Argengau of Marchthal; her maternal grandfather was King Conrad ("the Peaceful") III of Burgundy and her maternal grandmother is Princess Mathilde of France. She had three sisters named Mathilde, Mathilde and Brigitte. She had two half-brothers named Hermann and Rudolph.  She died on February 14th, 1043.  She was buried on February 16th, 1043.


Giselle's first family with Ernst von Babenburg I

‌Giselle and Ernst were married in a religious ceremony in 1003.  They had a son named Hermann.


Giselle's second family with Count Brunon von Braunschweig II of Derlingau

‌Giselle and Brunon were married in a religious ceremony in 1015.  They had a son and a daughter, named Ludwig and von Braunschweig.


Giselle's third family with Emperor Conrad II

‌Giselle and Conrad were married in a religious ceremony on November 21st, 1017.  They had a son and a daughter, named "the Black" and Beatrix.
