Louis Eliganius, known as "the Stammerer", was born on November 1st, 0843 in France.  "the Stammerer"'s father was Emperor Charles ("the Bald") II and his mother was Ermentrude d'Orleans.  His paternal grandparents were Emperor Louis ("the Pious") I of Aquitaine and Princess Judith von Andechs-Bavaria; his maternal grandfather was Vodon of Orleans and his maternal grandmother is Engeltrude de Paris. He had four sisters named Rothilde, Judith, Hersent and Godehilde. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named der Stammler and Rotilde.  He died at the age of 35 on April 10th, 0879 in Compiáegne, Neustria.

‌"the Stammerer" and Adelheid were married in a religious ceremony in 0864.  They had three daughters named Adâelaèide, Ermengarde and Kunigunde.
