Judith was born about 0800 in Altdorf, Bavaria.  Judith's father was Count Welf von Eritgau I of Andechs and her mother was Heilwig von Saxony.  Her paternal grandparents were Count Welf Isembart of Altdorf & Thurgau and Irmentruda Theidrada von Nagolzgau of Germany; her maternal grandfather was King Wittekind of the Saxons and her maternal grandmother is Geva Eyesteinsdottir. She had three brothers and a sister, named Eticho, Conrad, Rudolph and Emma.  She was the third oldest of the five children.  She died on April 19th, 0843 in Tours, France.


Judith's family with Emperor Louis ("the Pious") I of Aquitaine

‌Judith and "the Pious" were married in a religious ceremony in February 0819 in Aix La Chapelle, Austrasia.  They had a son named "the Bald".
