Yolanda was born about 1236 in Saragoza, Aragbon.  Yolanda's father was King Jayme ("the Conqueror") I of Aragon and her mother was Princess Yolande of Hungary.  Her paternal grandparents were King Pedro ("the Catholic") II of Aragon and Maria of Montpellier; her maternal grandparents were King Andrew II of Hungary and Gertrude of Meran. She had a brother and a sister, named "the Great" and Isabelle.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died in 1301 in Roncesvalles, Navarra.

‌Yolanda and "el Sabio" were married in a religious ceremony in Valladolid, Valladolid, Spain.  They had a son named Sancho.
