Pedro, known as "the Catholic", was born in Zaragoza, Zaragoza, Spain.  "the Catholic"'s father was King Alfonso ("the Chaste") II and his mother was Sancha of Castile.  His paternal grandparents were Prince Raymond ("the Chaste") Berengar IV and Petronilla Ramirez; his maternal grandparents were King Alfonso ("the Emperor", "Pierre-Raimund") Raimundez VII and Princess Richeza of Poland. He had a brother named Alfonso.  He died on September 12th, 1213 in Muret, Haute-Garonne, France.  He was buried in Monasterio De Sijena, Huesca, Spain.


"the Catholic"'s family with Maria of Montpellier

‌"the Catholic" and Maria were married in a religious ceremony on June 15th, 1204 in Montpellier, Herault, France.  They had a son named "the Conqueror".
