Thomas, known as "of Brotherton", was born on June 1st, 1300 in Brotherton, Yorkshire, England. "of Brotherton"'s father was King Edward ("Longshanks") Plantagenet I of England and his mother was Princess Marguerite of France. His paternal grandparents were King Henry Plantagenet III of England and Queen Eleanor Berenger of Provence; his maternal grandparents were King Philip III of France and Princess Marie of Brabant. He had a brother named "of Woodstock". He was the older of the two children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Edward, Eleanor, Joan and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 38 on August 4th, 1338. He was buried in Abbey, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England.-
