Henry was born on October 1st, 1207 in Winchester, Hampshire, England.  Henry's father was King John ("Lackland") I of England and his mother was Queen Isabella Taillefer of Angouleme.  His paternal grandparents were King Henry Curtmantle FitzEmpress ("Plantagenet") Plantagenet II of England and Princess Eleanor of Aquitaine; his maternal grandparents were Aymer Taillefer of Angouleme and Alice de Courtenay. He had a brother and two sisters, named Richard, Joan and Eleanor.  He was the oldest of the four children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Richard, Hugh, William and Joan.  He died at the age of 65 on November 16th, 1272 in Westminster, Middlesex, England.  He was buried on November 20th, 1272 in Westminster Abbey, Westminster, Middlesex, England.

‌Henry and Eleanor were married in a religious ceremony on January 14th, 1236 in Canterbury Cathedral, Kent, England.  They had two sons and a daughter, named "Longshanks", "Crouchback" and Beatrice.
