Edward, known as "Longshanks", was born on June 17th, 1239 in Westminster, Middlesex, England.  "Longshanks"'s father was King Henry Plantagenet III of England and his mother was Queen Eleanor Berenger of Provence.  His paternal grandparents were King John ("Lackland") I of England and Queen Isabella Taillefer of Angouleme; his maternal grandparents were Raymond Berenger V (IV) and Beatrice de Savoie. He had a brother and a sister, named "Crouchback" and Beatrice.  He died at the age of 68 on July 7th, 1307 in Burgh-On-The-Sands, Cumberland, England.  He was buried on October 28th, 1307 in Westminster Abbey, Westminister, Middlesex, England.


"Longshanks"'s first family with Princess Eleanor of Castile

‌"Longshanks" and Eleanor were married in a religious ceremony on October 18th, 1254 in Las Huelgas, Castile, Spain.  They had a son and three daughters, named Edward, Eleanor, Joan and Elizabeth.


"Longshanks"'s second family with Princess Marguerite of France

‌"Longshanks" and Marguerite were married in a religious ceremony on September 10th, 1299 in Canterbury Cathedral, Kent, England.  They had two sons named "of Brotherton" and "of Woodstock".
