Isabella was born about 1188 in Angouleme, Charente, France.  Isabella's father was Aymer Taillefer of Angouleme and her mother was Alice de Courtenay.  Her paternal grandfather was William Taillefer IV Angouleme and her paternal grandmother is Marguerie de Turenne; her maternal grandparents were Prince Peter de Courtenay I and Isabella de Courtenay.  She was an only child.  She died on May 31st, 1246 in Fontevrault Abbey, Fontevrault, Maine-et-Loire, France.  She was buried in Fontevrault Abbey, Fontevrault, Maine-et-Loire, France.


Isabella's first family with King John ("Lackland") I of England

‌Isabella and "Lackland" were married in a religious ceremony on August 24th, 1200 in Bordeaux Cathedral, Gascony.  They had two sons and two daughters, named Henry, Richard, Joan and Eleanor.


Isabella's second family with Count Hugh de Lusignan X de la Marche

‌Isabella and Hugh were married in a religious ceremony in England.  They had two sons named Hugh and William.
