Frank was born on April 22nd, 1903 in Birkenhead and his baptism took place there on June 3rd, 1903.1 2  Frank's father was Richard Brereton and his mother was Lydia Timmis.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Brereton and Esther Eddowes; his maternal grandparents were Richard Timmis Jnr and Lydia Woodward. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Richard, William, Ginnie, Ethel, Elsie and Lillie.  He was the youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 69 in 1972 in Birkenhead.3

‌Frank and Ethel were married in a religious ceremony in September 1927 at Brunswick Methodist (Birkenhead).6  They had a son and a daughter, named Stuart and Ethel.  There are no more children.
