Lydia, known as Lillie, was born on June 15th, 1897 in Birkenhead and her baptism took place there on July 7th, 1897.1 2  Lillie's father was Richard Brereton and her mother was Lydia Timmis.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Brereton and Esther Eddowes; her maternal grandparents were Richard Timmis Jnr and Lydia Woodward. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Richard, William, Frank, Ginnie, Ethel and Elsie.  She was the fifth oldest of the seven children.  She died at the age of 66 on November 7th, 1963 in Birkenhead.3
