Appart from 4 x £5 going to grandchildren and a shilling each to his daughters, Thomas inherited his father's estate, now of Church Shocklach.
When Thomas died, he left Robert £50, Peter £20, Charles £100, William, James and Samuel his livestock and the other children an insult of 1s.

Thomas and Catherine were married in a religious ceremony on September 6th, 1750 in Shocklach.1 They had eight sons and three daughters, named William, John, Thomas, James, Robert, Samuel, Peter, Charles, Anne, Mary and Elizabeth. There are no more children.

There seems to be another John and Catherine Hopley of Handley, who had a son John in 1753.

Aged 76
There was an outbreak of Cholera in 1832, and it is possible that John and Ann Hopley died of it, just three days appart. There were nepaper reports on 18 May 1832 (Chester Chronicle), but this is after they were dead and buried.Birth Notes
