    • In the Name of God Amen I William Hopley of the Parish of Shocklach in the County of Chester being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks to Almighty God (... Estate it both pleased God to Endow me with) make and Ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following:

      Imprimes: I Give and bequeath to Ann Daxon, Daughter of Edward and Mary Daxon, now of the Parkside Five Pounds. Item I give and bequeath to James their son Five Pounds.
      I Give and bequeath to John Farnell, Son of Frances and Elizabeth Farnell, now of Poolton Five Pounds. Item I give and bequeath to Mary their daughter son Five Pounds. Item I Give and bequeath to Edward Daxon, now of the Parkside on behalf of his Wife One Shilling. Item I give and bequeath to Frances Farnell now of Poolton on behalf of his Wife One Shilling.  All the rest of my Goods, Estate, Chattels and Cattle whatsoever I do give and bequeath to my Son Thomas Hopley now of Church Shocklach whom I do subscribe and Ordain Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testiment As Witness my Hand and Seal this twenty first day of January in the year of our Lord God 1733.

William was born in 1696 in Malpas and his christening took place there on October 29th, 1696.1  William's father was William Hopley and his mother was Mary Moyle. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, John and Mary.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 63 in October 1759 in Shocklach.  He was buried on October 31st, 1759 in Shocklach.2
