Blanche was born in 1248 in Arras, , France.  Blanche's father was Robert Capet I of Artois and her mother was Princess Matilde de Brabant.  Her paternal grandparents were King Louis Eliganius ("the Lion") Capet VIII and Princess Blanche of Castile; her maternal grandparents were Henry II of Brabant and Maria Hohenstaufens of Germany. She had a half-brother named Guy.  She died at the age of 54 on May 2nd, 1302 in Paris, France.  She was buried in Minoresses Convent, Aldgate, Middlesex, England.

‌Blanche and "Crouchback" were married in a religious ceremony in Paris, Seine, France.  They had a son named Henry.

They had a daughter named Joan.
