Stephen was born in Blois, France.  Stephen's father was Count Stephen Henry ("le Sage") III of Blois and his mother was Princess Adela.  His paternal grandfather was Count Theobald III of Blois & Champagne and his paternal grandmother is Garesende de Maine; his maternal grandparents were King William ("the Conqueror") I of England and Matilda of Flanders. He had three brothers and a sister, named Theobold, Thibault, William and Emma.  He died on October 25th, 1154 in Dover, Kent.  He was buried in Faversham Abbey, Kent, England.


Stephen's first family with Queen Matilda of Boulogne

‌Stephen and Matilda were married in a religious ceremony in 1125.  They had two daughters named Mary and Marie.

‌Stephen were married in a religious ceremony.  He had a biological daughter named Sibylla.
