Ellen was possibly baptised at Berry Brow (non-conformist, Almondbury). Sarah and George and four of their children (Saolmey, Ruth, George and Ellen) are burried together at Almondbury. In 1816, when son Samuel was baptised, Samuel was a Shop Keeper and Berry Brow.
1769 - 1848 Sally (Sarah) Brook 79 79 Sally's (or Sarah) father was Tos'h or Jos'h (Thomas or Joshua or Joseph) Brook, Clothier of Lockwood in the parish of Almondbury (recorded on daughter Sarah and Ellen's baptism record).

Sarah died a month after her husband Samuel Stocks.
1793 - 1853 James Stocks 59 59 In 1824, James' son (also James) was born and baptised at Honley.

In 1832, James is in the UK poll book, living at Honley at Fisher Green, a freehold farm (now an industrial and residential road)

In 1851, James and Esther (57 & 55) were at Fisher Greem. A wollen manufacturer employing over 50 people. Their 4 youngest daughters (single) were still there and recently married James and Ann were visiting.
1792 - 1846 Amelia (Molly) Stocks 54 54 Amelia married John Shaw in 10 Oct 1811.  The NC baprism for her daughter Ann is very interesting.  It shows Ameila was also known as Molly, and Amelia's father Joseph was an Inn keeper in 1812 1805 - 1845 Sarah Stocks 39 39 Daughter Sarah (1805) had her mother recorded as Sarah Brook (Sally a nickname for Sarah and often interchangable).

Sarah and Hichard lived in Holmfirth after they were married, at Newtown, Upperthong.
1792 - 1850 John Shaw 58 58 John may have died before 1841, when Amilia had George, Joseph and Ruth with her (and others).

In 1841 Amelia Shaw (45) was with George (25), Joseph (20), Ruth (20), Sarah (15) and Martha (10). Note: All ages are rounded.
1817 Joseph Shaw In 1841, Joseph (20, Tailor) was with his mother and siblings at  Newsome Close.

In 1848, Joseph Shaw, 32, son of John Shaw (both Clothiers) of Lingards married Sally Taylor (also 32) of Meltham, daughter of John Taylor, clothier.
1819 Ruth Shaw In 1851, Ruth Shaw (30) was living with her sister James and Ann Haigh and family at Haigh Fold, Honley 1828 Sarah Shaw In 1851, Sarah Shaw (23) was living with her sister James and Ann Haigh and family at Haigh Fold, Honley 1831 Martha Shaw No matching baprism for Martha, so may not be daughter of John and Amelia, but niece instead. 1815 George Shaw In 1841, George (25, Joiner) was with his mother and siblings at  Newsome Close.

On 25 May 1846, George Shaw (33, Joiner) of Huddersfield, son of John Shaw (Farmer) married Elizabeth Platts, 27, daughter of Joseph Playys, an Inn Keeper.
1821 Ellen Shaw Ellen was not on the 1841 census with mother, so probably married by then. 1812 Ann Shaw Ann was born Cartworth, Holmfirth on 1851 census, but this is more likely where her husband James was from.  They were living at Haigh Fold, Honley

NC baptism states: Ann Shaw 1st daughter of John Shaw Clothier of Dods-royd in the parish of Almondbury by Molley Stocks daughter of Samuel Stocks of Berry Brow Inn Keeper.
1814 James Haigh 1806 - 1835 George Stocks 28 28 George died just before his 29th Birthday. 1816 Samuel Stocks 1772 Sally (Ann) Tiffany Mary's baptism shows that Sarah is the daughter of David Tiffeney in the parish of Huddersfield. 1809 Mary Stocks 1767 Charles Stocks Charles was a methodist (when he had William and Mary baptised).

There are about 100 Kirkheaton (East Huiddersfileld) marriages of Stocks from 1724 to 1871.
1805 - 1859 William Stocks 54 54 William lived at Berry Brow.

William (widower) married Sarah Hargreves who died 11 Jan 1840, aged 35.  Both he and his father Charles were masons.

When Sarah died, their abode was Park Gate (Berry Brow).
1804 - 1838 Eliza Croft 33 33 Eliza's father was James Croft, a Butcher in Huddersfield.  Her mother was Sarah Hartley.  The father is recorded in the baptism records of her children. 1827 Sarah Stocks Sarah was one of the very first children (6th in the register) to be baptised at Salem Chapel New Connexion in Berry Brow. 1828 - 1896 Allan (Allin) Stocks 68 68 In 1890, Allin emigrated to Victoria, Australia (to retire). 1830 Mary Ann Stocks 1832 Martha Stocks 1834 Hamor Stocks 1836 - 1900 Charles William Stocks 64 64 Married Hannah 1837 Ann Emma Stocks 1811 Elizabeth Stocks Probably married Joseph Senior (buried together) or John Rushworth 21 Oct 1827, Huddersfield (although would expect Almondbury). 1799 - 1818 Ruth Stocks 19 19 1809 - 1819 Ellen Stocks 10 10 1795 - 1826 Salomey Stocks 31 31 Salomey Waite when died. She married John Waite, 25 Aug 1817.

Salomey is probably a dreivation of Salome.  There appears to be no baptism for this family between 1794-1804.
John Waite 1796 - 1881 Esther Moorhouse 85 85 1827 Mary Moorhouse Stocks 1830 - 1914 Charlotte Moorhouse Stocks 84 84 1833 - 1900 Sarah Moorhouse Stocks 67 67 Sarah married Walter Miller and moved to Fife, Scotland. 1836 - 1924 Esther Moorhouse Stocks 88 88 1824 - 1908 James Moorhouse Stocks 84 84 James married Ann.  James (and Ann) was a son and visitor in 1851.

There children were baptised at Woodhouse Christ Church, near Cowcliffe.

There are other STOCKS+SUGDEN births registered after 1851 in Halifax and Dewsbury (two families).

In 1901, Walter S and Adele G Davies (41 & 31) were at Oxton, Birkenhead. They had their 4 children, Walter's mother Charlotte (71, Wid) and sister Frances M Davies (39, single) with them and three servants.

In 1911, Walter Stocks Davies had been married 20 years and had 5 children (all alive). Four of the five were with him at Kirket Lane, Lower Bebington and Walter was at boarding School in North Wales.

In 1827 to 1829, William Shaw was a butcher at Salford when Jane Stocks and Sarah Ann Shaw were baptised.  By 1832 and 1834 Thomas had become a merchant (when Henry and Thomas were baptised).

In 1841 William and Martha (both 35) were at Salford (Lockwood) with Sarah (11), Henry (9), Thomas (7), and John (3).  Hannah Booth (20) was a F.S.
1827 Jane Stocks Shaw Jane was still with her parents at Lockwood in 1851 (aged 23) and 1861 (aged 33).

In 1865, Jane Stocks Shaw married John Petrie at Rochdale.  Even though aged 37, she had a daughter Emily Shaw Barlow in 1867.
1838 John William Shaw In 1857, Henry and John Shaw are listed as Woollen Manufacturers at 136 Cloth Hall & Meltham; and 136 Cloth Hall & Golcar.in the PO Trade Directory.

31 Mar 1864, John William Shaw, son to William (both merchants) married Emma Hick (Dau of Joseph Hich, dec) at Huddersfield.

In 1857, Henry and John Shaw are listed as Woollen Manufacturers at 136 Cloth Hall & Meltham; and 136 Cloth Hall & Golcar.in the PO Trade Directory.

In 1861, Henry (widower, 29) was at Westwood House, Golcar, a Woollen Merchant.
