Samuel was born in 1747 in Fartown and his baptism took place on September 13th, 1747 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).1  Samuel's father was David Stocks and his mother was Sarah Brook.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Stocks and Eliza Wilkinson. He had four brothers and a sister, named Joseph, Richard, Benjamin, David and Jane.  He was the third youngest of the six children. He had a half-sister named Anne.  He died at the age of 69 in January 1816 in Huddersfield.  He was buried on January 9th, 1816 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).1

‌Samuel and Elizabeth were married in a religious ceremony on May 3rd, 1778 at St. Peter (Huddersfield) by Vicar J Trotter.1  They had a daughter named Agnes.  There are no more children.
