Benjamin was born in 1744 in Fartown and his baptism took place on September 21st, 1744 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).1  Benjamin's father was David Stocks and his mother was Sarah Brook.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Stocks and Eliza Wilkinson. He had four brothers and a sister, named Joseph, Richard, Samuel, David and Jane.  He was the third oldest of the six children. He had a half-sister named Anne.  He died at the age of 60 in July 1804 in Huddersfield.  He was buried on July 15th, 1804 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).1

‌Benjamin and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony on October 30th, 1766 at St. Peter (Huddersfield) by a curate.2  They had four sons and five daughters, named Mathew, Benjamin, Samuel, Job, Ann, Jinny, Sally, Hannah and Bathey.  There are no more children.
