Hannah was born in 1753 in Fartown and her baptism took place on May 16th, 1753 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).¹

Hannah's father was Thomas Stocks and her mother was Elizabeth Dean.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Stocks and Eliza Wilkinson. She had a brother named David.  She was the older of the two children. She had three half-brothers named Joseph, Matty and David.

‌Hannah and John were married in a religious ceremony on November 4th, 1775 in Almondbury.²
