Thomas' father was Thomas Stocks and his mother was Eliza Wilkinson. He had two brothers and a sister, named David, William and Martha.  He was the second youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 72 in March 1791 in Huddersfield.  He was buried on March 30th, 1791 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).¹
