Job's father was Joseph Stocks and his mother was Elizabeth Hargreaves.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Stocks and Elizabeth (Betty) Cattons. He had a brother and a sister, named James and Mally.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 66 in October 1853 in Oldham.  He was buried on October 27th, 1853 in Oldham.²
