Ellen Stocks

Ellen was born about 1755 in Deighton.

• Birth Notes

  It appears that Ellen and Jno were not baptised, but there is a gap of 7 years between baptisms, so it is assumed that Ellen and Jon were born between 1753 and 1757 (i.e. about 1755).

Ellen's father was William Stocks and her mother was Sarah Brook.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Stocks and Eliza Wilkinson. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Jno, David, Charles, Fanny, Sarah, Elizabeth, Mary and Rachel.  She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.  She died in April 1759 in Huddersfield.  She was buried on May 2nd, 1759 at St. Peter (Huddersfield).¹
