Job was born in 1827 in Oldham and his baptism took place there on August 26th, 1827.1 2  Job's father was Job Stocks and his mother was Mary Whitehead.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Stocks and Elizabeth Hargreaves. He had a brother and two sisters, named Isaac, Sarah and Ann.  He was the third oldest of the four children.  He died at the age of 88 on April 25th, 1915 in Oldham.  His burial was on April 29th, 1915 in Chadderton.2 3
