Abode Noonhow 1788 - 1845 Mary Roberts 56 56 Not Mary SHACKLETON or SMITH, as they married other Thomas Pickes.  Thought to have married in Colne as first children are from there.

Mary was baptised with brother James on Christmas Day 1788 at St. Bartholomew, Colne.

Mary had a stroke and was partly paralysed. She suffered a fatal accident whilst her husband and daughter were out of the house.  She fell on the fire while cooking and died of her injuries.

The abode for the childrens baptisms was Noyna or Noonhow, which is probably a house at Foulridge.  Today there is Noyna Road, Avenue and view, all between Colne and Foulridge, a 15 min walk from the Church.

1 June 1810, James a Hatter married Jenny Wilson, both of Colne.  Jenny was also known as Jane (for 3 of the 4 baptism records).  Jenny died in March 1818 when Eleanor was born.

Mary Sharp, a single woman probably moved in to help look after the children, and in 1821 they has a daughter Maria Sharp (although Maria's father could be another).

6 June 1825, James, Hatter and Widow married Mary Sharp, spinster.

In 1841 James and Mary (55 & 40) were at Old Row, Colne,  Foulridge with John (13), Francis (11) Ann (9), Martha (6), Barnard (1)

In 1851 James and Mary (64 & 52) were at Mallen Hill, Foulridge with son Frank (20)

In 1861, James and Mary (76 & 72) were at Foulbridge with son John (32) and others

1786 Suzannah Herridge 1821 - 1867 Ellen Roberts 46 46 Ellen dau of James and Susannah 1823 James Birtles 4 Dec 1842, James Birtles of 14 Fir Street, son of Daniel married Ellen Roberts of 397 Oldham Street, Manchester, daughter of James Roberts a Coal miner.

NOTE: This is not the daughter of James Roberts from Foulridge, Colne.

In 1851, James and Ellen (29 & 30) were with Ellen's parents James and Susannah (both 65) and their three children.

In 1861, James and Ellen (38 & 40) were at Manchester with Mary Ann (18), Daniel (15) end Elizabeth (14).

In 1871, James (48, Wid) was with his sister Sarah and borther John (and 3 others)
