Richard Battarbee

Richard was born in March 1804 in Malpas and his baptism took place on March 21st, 1804 at St. Oswalds (Malpas).¹

Richard's father was George Batarbee and his mother was Mary Richards.  His paternal grandparents were John Batterbury and Elizabeth Kempster; his maternal grandparents were Richard Richards and Anne Phythian. He had two brothers and two sisters, named George, Thomas, Anne and Mary.  He was the second youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 72 on September 19th, 1876 in Malpas.²

  The Will of Richard Battarbee late of Malpas in the county of Chester who died 19 September 1876 at Malpas was proved at Cheater by George Johnson of the Groves Malpas Gentleman and Henry Cooper of Preston Hall near Malpas Farmer the Executors.

‌Richard and Mary were married in a religious ceremony on January 6th, 1828 at St. Oswalds (Malpas).³   They had three sons and three daughters, named Richard, Federick, George, Fanny, Maria and Louisa.  The family line is yet to be completed.
