Thomas was born in November 1805 in Malpas and his baptism took place on November 30th, 1805 at St. Oswalds (Malpas).1  Thomas' father was George Batarbee and his mother was Mary Richards.  His paternal grandparents were John Batterbury and Elizabeth Kempster; his maternal grandparents were Richard Richards and Anne Phythian. He had two brothers and two sisters, named George, Richard, Anne and Mary.  He was the youngest of the five children.  He died at 1 months old in December 1805 in Malpas.  He was buried on December 5th, 1805 in Malpas.2
