Martha was born on October 29th, 1839 in Worthenbury and her baptism took place there on November 8th, 1839.1  Martha's father was Charles Richards and her mother was Jane Lloyd.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles Richards and Elizabeth Batterbury. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Charles, George, Richard, John, Henry, Frederick, Elizabeth, Ann, Jane and Mary.  She was the second youngest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 90 in January 1930 in Chester.2
