Nathan was from Adlington, the son of Edward and Mary Mather from the parish of Chorley. There is another Nathan Mather, son of John and Ann of Blackrod, born 1788.
In 1841, Nathan and Catherine (both 50) were at Adlington, Rivington with Ann (20), Margaret (15), Nathan (14), Thomas (6) and Edward (4). Nathan was a plasterer and Whitewasher.
In 1851, Nathan and Catherine (61 & 60) were at Higher Lane, Adlington.
