Elizabeth Mather 
Elizabeth was born on August 16th, 1818 in Adlington and her baptism took place on August 16th, 1818 in Rivington.1 Elizabeth's father was Nathan Mather and her mother was Catherine Bibby. Her paternal grandparents were Edward (Nedde) Mather and Mary Hough. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named John, Edward, Nathan, Nathan, Edward, Thomas, Richard, Mary, Mary, Ann and Margaret. She had an adopted brother named Edward. She died at the age of 37 in April 1856 in Over Darwen. She was buried on April 16th, 1856 in Over Darwen.2 Death Notes

8 May 1841, Elizabeth married, daughter of Nathan Mather William Moss, son of William Moss at Standish St Wilfred.
In 1851 Elizabeth and William were living in Belmont, Sharples with Mary, William, Nathanial and Alice (9, 7, 5 & 2).
Elizabeth died after Mary was born in 1853 and William Dodd, now in Over Darwen married Ellen Isherwood 18 Jul 1857.
In 1861, Elizabeth had died and William (42) was at Pickup Bank with new wife Ellen (28) and Mary Ann, William, Nathanial and Alice (19, 17, 15 & 12), plus Mary and Sarah Moss (8 & 2).
