Mary's father was Nathan Mather and her mother was Catherine Bibby.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward (Nedde) Mather and Mary Hough. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named John, Edward, Nathan, Nathan, Edward, Thomas, Richard, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann and Margaret. She had an adopted brother named Edward.  She died at the age of 1 in December 1813 in Adlington.  She was buried on December 26th, 1813 in Rivington.²
