  His mother may have been buried 10/04/1793 but this may be another Mary, as no evidence that Edward remaried.

John's father was Edward (Nedde) Mather and her mother was Mary Hough. Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and <unknown>. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Thomas, Nathan, John, Alice, Mary, Margaret, Agnes, Betty and Nancy. She died at the age of 19 in November 1813 in Adlington. Her burial was on November 16th, 1813 in Rivington.²³
