Margaret was born in October 1292.  Margaret's father was Gilbert the Red de Clare and her mother was Joan of Acre Plantagenet.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard de Clare and Maude de Lacy; her maternal grandparents were Edward I Longshanks Plantagenet of England and Eleanor of Castile & Leon. She had a brother and two sisters, named Gilbert, Eleanor (Alinore) and Elizabeth. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Edward, Thomas, Joan, Isabella, Mary and Joan.


Margaret's first family with Piers de Gavaston

‌Margaret and Piers were married in a religious ceremony on November 1st, 1307.  They had two daughters named Joan and Amy.


Margaret's second family with Hugh II Juniori de Audley

‌Margaret and Hugh II Juniori were married in a religious ceremony on April 28th, 1317 in Berkshire, England.  They had a daughter named Margaret.
